Ottoman authorities ordered the deportation of more than 1,750,000 Armenians out of the Empire beginning in February 1915 in Eastern Anatolia (Kevorkian 2011, Kevorkin 2014, Suny 2017, Encyclopedia Britannica, n.d.). This was part of a much larger plan for elimination of the Armenians in the empire which include massacres, deportations, and religious conversions (Kevorkian 2011).

Data Quality: We rated evidence for forced displacement of Armenians in Turkey as a 3 out of 3.
