The Jakalteko are a group of indigenous Maya in Guatemala. No clear evidence can be found of a deliberate attack on this particular group of people.  However, based on the brutal history of the Guatemalan army towards indigenous groups beginning in the 1960’s it could be assumed that these people were also affected by ethnic-targeted lethal violence during these times (Holocaust Museum Houston, n.d.). About 1.5 people were displaced since the time of military unrest and conflict, fleeing to neighboring countries (Holocaust Museum Houston, n.d.). Data quality on overall genocide against Maya in Guatemala would be given a score of 3.  Data quality on ethnic-targeted lethal violence for Jakalteko in particular is much lower (1).
