The Qom in Argentina, referred to as Toba by Spanish colonizers, have experienced a long history dispossession under colonial rule (Civallero, 2014). From 1923 to 1937, the Qom engaged in revolts against oppressive rule. However, none were successful in creating tangible change (Civallero, 2014). Following these events, the national government forcibly seized land from the Toba for agriculture and timber industries (Civallero, 2014). Many Toba were forced to migrate to urban centers due to loss of livelihood from land grabs and deforestation (Minority Rights, n.d.; Civallero, 2014). Due to the relative lack of scholarly resources, this is given a data quality of 2.
