The Nukak are one of Columbia’s indigenous groups located on the border between Colombia and Brazil. As one example of targeted killings, twenty Nukak were killed by colonists during a rubber boom in the region (Minority Rights Group, n.d.). In the last 30 years, the Nukak have been subjected to displacement by armed groups, drug traffickers and mega-projects conducted by the government, and their population has decline substantially (1200 in 1985 to 255 in 1986), in some cases due to disease (Minority Rights Group, n.d.). Due to the limited evidence available from peer-reviewed sources, data quality is considered a 1.
